When it comes to food and the environment, you can’t help but be influenced by the food industry

When it came to food, my dad would never let me put on a shirt that read, “No meat, no eggs, no dairy” because it meant I would be eating only animal products.
This made it clear to me that I was going to have to make my own choices.
It made me question what I was eating for my family.
This led to me searching for alternatives.
It gave me a perspective on the world and how it is changing, which led to my decision to switch to organic farming.
This meant I was able to avoid buying food products that had a chemical component.
For example, when I went to buy an organic chicken that came with the label, “Certified organic”, I realised that it was genetically modified, which was no good for me.
I could never eat that product again.
The organic farming process allows farmers to keep their farms as healthy as possible, while also creating a more sustainable food system.
I have also noticed that the animals are treated with compassion, as I feel they deserve a better life than what I am currently living.
I am a vegan now and I feel it is my responsibility to help others make the same transition.
